Most were from Danang in 1968-1969. It was a nice memorial tribute but it did not make me want to relive my 13 months in the central highlands

That's surprising. I would have figured a couple of hours of Hanoi Hannah or whatever her name was would have been more their speed.

Listened to AFVN for quite a spell, even when flying missions. It was inspiring on occasion.
Flitting around in the A Shau one day and started taking fire. Escort Snakes did their thing and as the first one rolled in AFVN put Arthur Brown on stage. Yep, when we got back to base the pilot grabbed his paint brush and named his Snake “GOD OF HELLFIRE”. He also painted a large one finger salute on the belly.
I am..........disturbed.

AFVN helped break the boredom of flying radio cap over Cambodia. (So did other things, but this is about AFVN...)
One of the funniest songs was one created and recorded in-country, I think. It was titled "Who's gonna feed them hogs?" and it was about some farm bumpkin who got drafted. The chorus went something like
Here I am in Viet Nam And who's gonna feed them hogs?

Have not listened to an hour of NPR in my life. Doubt that will change.

That would have been pretty cool to listen to. My notions of what that might have been like back in the day is more or less from watching Good Morning Vietnam. I watched AFKN and listened to their radio counterpart from time to time when I was in ROK, but I don't really remember anything remarkable about it.
NPR/PBS is the PSYOPS of the Propaganda Corps. I make it a point NOT to listen to or watch any of their schitt.
