Actually been around for a few months but rarely post. I thought it polite to introduce myself. 50 something y/o living in rural Michigan. More into hunting than fishing, I guess I'm a generalist. I camp a little and like messing with axes, saws and campfires. Mediocre with a rifle, shotgun or handgun, I'll even shoot a bow sometimes just to keep myself humble. Got gundogs in the house and an understanding wife. Anyway, I hold down a job, pay taxes and am generally functional. If forced to take sides, I'd say: Old guns are cooler than new ones. Ducks are better than geese. Marlins are better than Winchesters, except for the Model 71, which kinda evens things out. The older I get the less I split hairs over cartridges. Most of them work better than the guy pulling the trigger. I handload for fun and years ago was tricked into thinking it would save me money. If you disagree with me ,well, you might be right. Just don't expect me to admit it. If you're really upset, just come and see me. Easy to recognize, I'm the guy with the mask and the bad haircut Do you ever see Ted Nugent in the grocery store? Does he buy Duke's or Miracle Whip? Who do you root for - Michigan, Michigan State, or a good team?

auk: Funny you ask. I did see Ted once stopping at a farm store riding in a white limo, IIRC. It was whatever Tractor Supply used to be called back then. Haven't met him personally. Not a die hard sports fan, but do have a degree that is Green&White. Got some reasons to be ticked off at U of M administration, but nothing against the students. Usually root for them when they play anybody else.

I hand load a lot cheaper than factory ammo. You priced any .416 Rigby ammo lately? The .22 GTC? Paper patched BP buffalo ammo?
