Asking this here because I like personal thoughts and experiences.
I currently carry a glock 26, and would like something that is even smaller. My main needs are reliability, and the ability to pocket carry whenever it's not being carried iwb.
I would most likely carry it iwb, but want the ability to throw it in my pocket when I feel like it. The main contenders right now are the Kahr cw380 and S&W 642.
I really like the sig p365 but even that is just too close to the glock. Also thinking a walther ppk but that is just for the cool factor, and I shoot my friends very well.
What are your thoughts and suggestions? Thanks!
Edit, I am not at all a fan of the LCP or bodyguard.

No contest, for pocket carry the S&W 642 is a winner.

https://images.app.goo.gl/XBxxnpdsr5opdE566Hopefully this link works showing a j frame laying on a g26 . Shape is different yes , but the j isn’t smaller . LCP easily disappears in a pocket

J-frame vs G26 is not issue of size but weight and resistance to lint and dust in pockets. Clearly DAO revolver with light alloy frame and titanium cylinder is a clear winner. The revolver can be fired from inside of jacket pocket and does not even need a pocket holster.

Kahr P380 has been a good gun for me, but also the SW with a hip grip

Take a look at the Glock 43. Same operating system that you are already used to. Fits in a pocket holster perfectly.

The Sig P365 is to bendy and the trigger guard is lame.

PPK on a G26. The PPK is what I call my house gun. It’s always on me at home. PPK next to a G26. The PPK is only 3 oz lighter, but slips into a pocket real nice.

Edit, I am not at all a fan of the LCP or bodyguard. Both the LCP and 442/642 are excellent choices, but you might want to stick with Glock and get their Model 42, which is in .380 ACP. It's bigger than the LCP, but worlds more shootable, and can fit in a pants pocket. It would make a more logical companion to your Model 26, I think.

As handy as the S&W 642 is I've grown very fond of Ruger's LCR. Way better trigger. It also fits in the same holster as the 642. Slightly larger grip. Give it a try.

No contest, for pocket carry the S&W 642 is a winner. Can't say anything negative about the 642/442/38/638. I have the 442 and 38, and often carry one of them in a coat of bathrobe pocket.

The revolver can be fired from inside of jacket pocket and does not even need a pocket holster. This is a big advantage to the tiny double action revolver, i.e., safe to carry loose in a pocket.

LCP II has worked like a charm for me.
Some mornings, it just does not feel worth it to chew through the straps!~

I agree with this having both a G26 Gen 4 and a G42 380 on hand. Mark in GA

Exactly why I kept the PPK , first shot double action after that single. If you get used to flipping the decocker up on the draw it’s even safer.

Can't stand the damn things. I was issued one when I worked dope back in the mid-90's. Supposedly if I got caught with it by the meth heads I was working it wouldn't scream "cop!" It was heavy, had a terrible trigger, tiny sights and the worst issue was that it jammed very consistently. Even with FMJ it was rare to go through a couple magazines with out the thing choking and puking. My backup when in uniform patrol was a S&W M38 Airweight Bodyguard and I began packing that against regulations. Five 158 gr. SWC-HP was a better bet than the stove piping Walther.

Hmm...
Polished the feed ramp with 400/800. Never gave me any problems.
Rigid barrel blowback design makes the gun feel really manageable and is accurate.
Likes grease...avoids galling of the slide which could lead to fail-to-feed.
Trigger is fine on mine, taken it completely apart so many times that it must have acquired a little "polish".
Fiocchi 95gr XTP and Underwood 65 gr XDs...no issues.
Sights are tiny, but feel you have to train with whatever the firearm offers.
Well-earned street rep. Goombahs always act surprised.
Don't ask me about my military service or heroic acts...most of it is untrue.

The Sig P365 is to bendy and the trigger guard is lame. BS I have both and the 365 is light years ahead of a jframe
