I've been out of the .22 game for awhile. I bought a NIB Ruger, didn't get around to shooting it. I saw a woodchuck in my backyard eating my new grass and I missed him twice with the irons. I'm looking for a scope under $100, what do you suggest? Thanks.

Old school I know but I love the Weaver steel tube K4s with the straight wires for .22lr.

Don't underestimate a simple red dot too.

They look like crap, too short. Get the 2-7X rimfire (older non VX Freedom). They look better.
Bought a 4x rimfire (recent model) and put it on an international 10/22.

Did not look good. Scope worked fine, but just too short- looked funky.

Imo 2-7 is as good as it gets on 10/22.
I also used 4x and never felt over or under scopes.
Nikon has been good to me, I’d look for a close out or used.
I had the Minox and the cross hair was little fat for me
There are some good deals that come up on here

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

It is hard to break a scope just by looking through it and no one that I know cranks the adjustments much after their rifle is sighted in. Used older scopes are better than new inexpensive ones. My own 10/22 Sporter has a Leupold 2.5-8-36 on low mounts and it works well.

My other auto is a .45

The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory
