My dad has a 1960s Ford tractor i believe that it is a 7110. He recently told me that he broke the transmission in it. Does anyone know of a tractor junkyard that might have a tranny in it.

Don't know how far you're willing to search and it's been a long time since I dealt with them, but you might call Christian Tractor in Tyler, TX. I used them for parts on an old 1949 Allis-Chalmers WD. Information below is from yellowpages.com. Helpful folks that might point you in the right direction if they can't get it or don't have it themselves. Christian Tractor (1 Review) 14569 Fm 14, Tyler, TX 75706 (903) 266-1553 Review on yellowpages.com: danjwhite35
They really know their tractors.
Very friendly and helpful staff. I have an older tractor and you could tell they knew a lot about all the parts and pieces. Give them a call. If they don't have what you need they can get it.

Full size row crop tractor, utility tractor, compact, or garden tractor? Horse power rating? What is the shift pattern? 5 speed, 3 speed with hi/lo, auto shift? Actual serial # and year of manufacture?
These are things the counter person will need to know.
Sometimes model numbers are duplicated between product lines.

Definitely go to the Ford Tractor forum at Yesterdaystractors.com. Very knowledgeable people on older Fords there. Look for a flat spot on transmission housing just behind the starter for three hand stamped numbers. They can translate numbers into exact model, build date and serial. Goodluck on your search.

Well, Ford didn't make a 7110 in the 60's. knowing year & model could be a major factor in deciding to replace or repair.

I believe there is a tractor yard in MO that specializes in gray market tractors. You might check there anyway for what you need. Can’t hurt

No but the 7710 was a heck of a tractor, equivalent with the John Deere 4020. 96 hp 4 cyl diesel. Transmissions available were 4 & 2 for an eight speed, or an 8 & 2 for 16 forward and four in R, or an 8 & 2 synchro with 8 in reverse. It helps to know what we are talking about. And the parts guy will have to know.

I don't know much of anything about Ford tractors, but are you sure it's a 7110? Never heard of one of those.

Not sure about the tranny part, but there's a counter guy at a tractor salvage yard in Lawrenceburg Tennessee who acts a little light in the loafers! Jerry
