Had the parts for a couple of weeks, and finally got around to putting together.

Crosman 2240. $59
Steel breech. $50
Rail $10
Burris FF3 $200 or so. Okay, that's not really cheap, but I had it, so on it went. Lots of cheap ones out there.

A condensed milk can's worst nightmare.

I did the same job on a pumpgun some years ago, but gave it away.

I did a trigger job on mine, installed a BOSS valve, opened and polished the gas ports, installed a steel breech and rail and put a Bushnell TRS 25 on it.

Pappy and Blackheart, educate me on CO2 guns please.

What is a BOSS valve? Polishing the gas ports?

I've heard CO2 is temperature dependent?

Pappy, you said you did a pump gun, which do you prefer, pump or gas?

Thanks,
Bob.

A boss valve is an extra capacity valve body that holds and releases more CO2 with each shot, increasing power but decreasing the number of shots you get from a cartridge. They are available from crooked barn airguns or at least they were last I knew. Opening and polishing the gas ports eases gas flow and increases power.
