Here's a Movie/documentary about China Mart. It's down loaded to YouTube so I'm surprised that it's not been censored and banned yet. When you click on, if it's low resolution, you can kick it up to 720p. I won't go into it now, but the movie is actually mild compared to the rest of the story. But it's well worth watching. Keep in mind that lots of folks are being paid by the socialists to stand all day on main Street America, so we can't open the few mom and pop businesses that are left. At the same time the owners of Wally world has commi slave labor factories all over a country that's enslaved their population.. Under Chairman Mao's " experiment" they murdered over 100 million of their own people! Enjoy ☕😐👍 And let me know what you think of it after you watch it. The High Cost of Low Price, by Brave New Films https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RXmnBbUjsPsSounds like you summed it up, I can watch something else now. Thanks.

Just bought an AC from Walmart online. Got exactly what I wanted rather than chit choices locally.

Have any Walmarts been looted? Yes, one was burned down in Chicago. Walmart said they aren't going to rebuild. So, AGAIN BLT has screwed over black people in that area. I don't think the mayor cares one way or the other.

Used to go when I lived near one for the Lindt chocolate bars. $1 or more cheaper per bar than the Safeway. Now, it's a two hour trip to the nearest one, I'm usually too busy when up in that town to drive down to the Wal-mart end, and we now have a Grocery Outlet that sometimes has the chocolate bars even cheaper than Wally's. It was convenient to stop there too, at 10pm or so on the way home from visiting friends, and I lived 30 miles from any other store and they weren't open that late anyway. Not a factor in my life now. For all I know, it may be 30 years before I set foot in one again.

I don't think the mayor cares one way or the other. Way back in the late eighties, Walmart floated the idea to have these huge Walmart's called "Hypermarts". There were only four in the whole country. One in Kansas, one in Missouri and two in Texas. Surprisingly, I've been in all but one of them. The Kansas City Hypermart was in this bad part of town. It was located near a nice mall and there were a bunch of nice shops around it. Walmart won't fess up to this but the people around there destroyed it. The mall is gone, torn down. So is the Hypermart. Almost all the stores are gone. The people around there ran them out. High crime area. The one that replaced it, a Supercenter, is miles away and is still bad enough that they have security running around in cars all the time. You don't see that down here in the country or at other KC locations (at least as much). Just folks destroying their own area. Then they wonder about these "food deserts" and such like that where they have to travel out of their own neighborhood just to buy groceries. Well, the shops can't survive in such high crime areas. Nobody wants to be around types that will cut your throat for a Big Mac.

I don't know what a regular Walmart is other than they vary greatly. The first Walmart Supercenter opened in Missouri in 1988 and was 125,000 square feet. The last Hypermart was the one I spoke of above and it exceeded 225,000 square feet. Almost double the size. It was indeed very big. The one in Topeka, Kansas was converted to a Supercenter and we still shop there once in awhile. It is huge.

I went to Walmart because I HAD to - needed batteries for my bore sighter, "Fine Jeweltu" counter is CLOSED so the associates can clean and sanitize and protect customers: Except" 25 "Associates" are standing at the front of the store chewing the fat, on their phones, etc...
I avoid Walmart if at all possible.

I live in a rural area and my business is in a small town. Many people I know have worked at Walmart at one point or another. I shop there occasionally, but try to shop at the locally owned small businesses. The longer Walmart has been in town and the more people that I have known that work there it has become more and more evident to me that they have no compassion or loyalty to their workforce. They literally don’t care how long someone has worked there, age that may dictate best work duties/placement or family situations/events and how it effects the workers. They just don’t care and from what I’ve seen or should I say heard from employees there, it’s only getting worse. I don’t believe any corporation that treats the workforce they depend on can last this way long term. I’m not implying it’s going down soon, but I will not be shocked at all to see it’s decline begin in a few years. That is unless they start changing their attitude toward the workforce.
