I was hoping for the best for our trip to Glacier National Park, which is just weeks away........I just fully bailed on that idea......NO GO. So whats available? Need ideas......
Here's my thoughts, Key west FL, Great idea, very cheap flights, but too late in the year, too hot and sticky.
Hawaii, their GOV just mandated a new 14 day self quarantine when you arrive on the island,,,Like, stay inside and no having fun....Don't know if the mandate is being enforced and by whom? Your thoughts?
Alaska, flights are too high priced for current times and I would not have enough time to plan.....Your thoughts?
Seems any Federal park is a crap shoot at this time?
Need ideas folks.....4 people who like activities and scenery.

Idaho is 60% public land and it's all open. We don't have any national parks but we have some incredibly spectacular scenery. Check out the Sawtooth Nat. Recreation area. How about the big lakes in the northern part of the state? You're probably too late to book a float trip, though.

Id still go to Glacier. If you want to get away from the fake covid crisis and the riots and looting can't think of a better place than NW Montana. Bring your camera, binos and fly rod. Then come over to N Idaho to Sand Point, Bonners Ferry.

This time of year should be nice in the finger lakes. Niagara Falls, tons of neat little wineries, gorgeous little lakes, beautiful country up there. If the antifa morons haven't burned Buffalo and Corning to the ground, you could do worse.

Florida Panhandle. It’s open, restaurants & hotels, everything for the most part. Pensacola, Navarre, Ft Walton Beach, Destin, take your pick.
Hawaii is still on lockdown, avoid it. I’ve got a work trip there in a couple of weeks and the word is you’re pretty much confined to the hotel.

TR nat'l park, stay at the Trapper Inn in Belville, then go to Malta, Montana and visit Big Jim and the Missouri Breaks. Head south and enjoy the Little Bighorn. Then it's on to the Black Hills of So. Dakota, stay in Hot Springs and drive every dirt road and hike every trail in and adjacent to Custer State Park.
This may be the best year ever to avoid potsticker tourists. Have fun.

Kenneth: Go to Glacier National Park and among other things rent a Bell Jet Ranger Helicopter ride over the unseen reaches (and familiar areas) of Glacier National Park! I don't care what it costs you, in time, or tribulations - it IS, a life changing venture, for ones existence. I know - I done it, recently! Best of luck to you what ever you decide on. Throw some ideas at me....specifics,,, flights....Lodging......What areas and how many days in what area? Idaho is a bit of a drive for us........Not sure about driving that distance.

Spent much time in those areas,,,,,Not feeling the love to return to Destin. Hawaii, what a shame.
