What other calibers are you all using RL-26 in......?

Seems way too slow for a 338 Win mag with ANY bullet?? I get higher velocities with R19. I am only using it in my 6.5-284. Gets me 3000 fps with a 25" barrel and 143 ELD-X. About .3 MOA to 800 yards but my ES are not as low as I need to go a lot further.

That's a good velocity with that bullet in the 6.5-284. I have been using RL-17 to get to 3K, but hear that RL-17 can be hard on throats and the 6.5-284 is known as a throat burner anyway.

May need to try RL-26. Just happen to have a big jug.

I had a big WOW yesterday while out doing load development shooting through my Oehler 35p chronograph.........
I was working on several gun's but was tinkering with my 270 Win that has a tried and true load of 140gr Accubond with H4831SC that shoots right at 2900fps as have several others over the years.

I found a load with same combo only using RL26 that was running 3160fps, this is blowing my mind and I don't quite understand how it is possible, but was showing no pressure signs !!!!!!!!!! have to do some final tweaking but is very promising.

Yeah, that's smokin...

Sometimes these new powders will do amazing things in older rounds.

Like 3,250 fps with 100's out of the .257R with H-100V. Who'd of thought you could get near 25-06 performance out of the old Roberts, all within SAAMI pressure limits.

Interesting times to be a reloader/shooter.

I am actually only getting about 2975 with my current R26 load. I haven't pushed it since it is scary accurate now. Magpro and R17 will get you 3000. R17 will torch your barrel. My first R17 barrel only lasted 550 or so rounds.

What bullets with the 300 WBY? I’d like to try 200gr NPT.

I used the data from the Alliant website for 300 Wby. It is the only powder I tried that gives acceptable accuracy with my rifle.

Had not heard this about R17. What is the typical barrel life for a 6.5-284?
