What is the best sights for low level light, in your opinion? Thanks.
I prefer classic.

Trijicon HD or TruGlo TFO. The TruGlo sights light up with both fiber optic and tritium.

Thanks. Do you prefer one? I like the looks of the Trijicon HD better, but you could argue that the TruGlo is a better all round sight. I sold the Glock that I had TruGlo sights on, but still have my Glocks with Trijicon HDs on, if that means anything. It's a toss up.

My 1911 wore Tijicon Tritium night sights for a few decades until they finally got dim and went out. Getting into the 21st century, I put a Tijicon RMR on that .45 and holy smokes, what a difference in accuracy! My eyes probably haven't gotten any better over the years either, but put that red dot on the target and that is where the bullet goes. No focusing on a back and front sight and then the target. Everything is in the same plane. The RMR has a smaller sight window and lower profile than the newer SRO and if the larger size of the SRO isn't a concern to you, that larger window makes seeing that red dot easier. That SRO would be my choice for a home defense low light 1911.
My other auto is a .45
The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory

Not to be my normal dickish self, but if you are consciously trying to align front and rear sights - you're doing it wrong. Your brain will naturally guide the front rear alignment.

But I agree that a red dot is nice.

Tijicon RMR Or SRO?
Do you have a holster that works with these sights?
They look to be >$500

Have had several different brands of night sights on 1911s, Glocks and 3rd Generation S&W semi autos...
So for the TruGlo TFO/TFX series far surpasses any of the others I have tried.
Have the TFOs on three Glocks and the TFX on a Colt Commander and plan on adding a set to at lest one more Commander and Government Model.
The dots are easy to see in ANY kind of light.
