For me, comfort/soul food is...

Chicken soup (made with chicken feet and gizzards) with kreplach (sort of like wontons).
Kishke (stuffed intestine).
Home made pickles.
Roast duck with sweet and sour red cabbage.
Potato dumplings (fried in the duck fat).

Soul food - meat and three where everything is stewed or fried.

Comfort food - very subject. For me, corned beef hash, sausage spaghetti, ham and green beans with potatoes. Grilled cheese. Bean salad, bacon and egg sandwich, fried potatoes, clam chowder......

Sure she would. She had the privilege of having 6 kids, at home not a hospital. And that “home” was a tent when the oldest two were brought into the world. She had the privilege of going to west TX every fall and working their way home to southwest OK picking cotton and staying in a tarp stretched off the bumper of an old car for the duration of the trip. That little rundown house with the chipped brown Masonite siding and a 17” TV was probably seemed like a palace to her, I certainly never heard her complain, about anything.

Ribs baked with preferably home made sauerkraut, a nice firm slice of polenta with butter, and leaf lettuce salad dressed with vinegar and oil.

Some millennial trying to drive a stick shift ox.

If you love someone set them free
If they come back no one else liked them
Set them free again
