On Android, go to your settings, go to Google and there it is. You can turn it on or off. It tracks all the Bluetooth users your in contact with.

Apple has something similar but someone else will have to figure that out, I don't have an IPhone.

It's so nice of Apple to do a phantom install, and forget to tell anyone they now have another tracking app on their phone.

I contacted my carrier, local store and friends about this issue a few weeks ago. None were aware of this.
It is very serious and did my homework at the time. I have to get back to work, but might have a chance to catch up or contribute to your thread later.

I use the analogy of something that they can identify with.
How would you like it and what would you do if you found a tracking device ,"bug" located on your car?
Would you mind if someone placed it in your purse or clothing?

That's exactly what this is. The corporations involved are working with politicians to make this tracking and tracing mandatory!

It's already gone beyond this scene.

I checked a couple of days ago and I don't have that App. But, I quit doing updates about 2 years ago because my 4S is old and will only get slower with every update I allow.

Now they want everyone to volunteer for this.
If people won't volunteer, and it's obvious that the vast majority will, then they we require it.

On iPhone, go to Settings, Privacy, Bluetooth and it has a “Covid-19 Exposure Logging” that you can turn on or off.

It says “When enabled, iPhone can exchange random ID’s with other devices using Bluetooth” and will collect for 14 days.

If you are diagnosed with Covid it will let you choose to share your phone’s random ID’s with an authorized app.

Mine was turned off when I found it. It’s staying off.

No, but you can avoid doing IOS update 13.5

Keep in mind, it’s not an app. It just sets up the information for an app to use. The “official” line being if you don’t download an app that can use the information it’s useless and goes away after 14 days.

Mine is off and NO apps have requested sharing.

I need & use Bluetooth nearly every day.

They pushed that crap here and I and mine won't have a bar of it.

iPhone, settings, privacy, health (not Bluetooth) on mine and there it is.

Over time I've noticed that too. If it's in the movies, it might have been around a decade at that point.
