Val is a 16 yr old young man that fishes with us. He started building custom rods when he was12 and has his own business now, has made enough to buy a brand new truck. He made this rod for Brian.

Those are beautiful wrapped fishing rods. Good for that young man making a name for himself.

I got a buddy that makes rods in his retirement and he keeps me supplied just because he likes to keep busy.
Lucky me.

I just started making rods this past winter. Needless to say, my creations don't look fractionally as good as what this young man's doing. So far, my efforts have been self taught. I'm to the point I can do basic wraps and simple criss cross windings. I might go take a couple work shops and see if I can take this farther. Thanks for posting STXthe young man is very talented.
