I’ve seen all the versions of Van Halen, David Lee was the best, although Sammy was good too. I’ve seen Boston a couple of times, they were outstanding both times.
Born in 71, I was too young to catch most of the great rock acts of that era. Zeppelin, Hendrix prob most regrettably. I did get a shot to see Floyd later without Roger Waters, but I was a junior in High School, my folks still had me under their thumb, and for various reasons I couldn’t make the show. That one still stings. Aside from that, I have been lucky to see many others. Knocked off a huge list at Woodstock ‘99. I would add Prince to my list of regrettable misses. I see SRV mentioned a number of times here; he was one of the ones I was blessed to see. He was, in fact, the best rock/blues performance, or any performance, I have ever seen. The Polish American Beach Club in Gardner MA. Epic.
Would have to say Hendrix when he came to San Diego. I think I was all of 14 and a half at the time of the May '69 concert. I'd have basically had to run away, then get my ass kicked when I got home. I had friends go that snuck in a back door.
If not mistaken, his most "famous" recorded version of Red House comes from that show.
Woodstock too, but then I'd have had to run away for months!
The desert is a true treasure for him who seeks refuge from men and the evil of men. In it is contentment In it is death and all you seek (Quoted from "The Bleeding of the Stone" Ibrahim Al-Koni)
Remember why, specifically, the Bill of Rights was written...remember its purpose. It was written to limit the power of government over the individual.
There is no believing a liar, even when he speaks the truth.
