Louisiana has a serious issue with public property named after "racists", Jefferson Davis Parish for one. Remember him? Bossier Parish and Bossier City along with several other streets in the state named Bossier were named after a slave owning politician, Pierre Jean-Baptiste Bossier who was also a murderer. He might have repented though. He committed suicide in Washington DC after serving a short time in congress. J. Bennett Johnston waterway was named after our senator who once defended segregation in 1963. We have a Washington Parish, a Jackson Parish, a Jefferson Parish. The list goes on and on. What will we do?

More I hear about Mississippi the more I like it. My Great Great Grandpa was in Alabama and helped design the fortifications around Mobile.
