Strip-down component inspection interval @ 72,000 hrs M.T.U. (Motor Turbine Union) has origins with Maybach that produced engines for WW1 aircraft and WW2 tank and armored vehicle engines. MTU now comes under Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG a subsidiary of Rolls Royce Holdings. -Bulletproof and Waterproof don't mean Idiotproof.

OP Starman Campfire Outfitter Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 9,097	Spent time in MERs with MTUs screaming their heads off - fed by Triple Turbos - although smaller than 8000 series above max. operating RPM was twice that of the 8000 noise and heat a unique experience... sign language/lip reading skills and regular hydration essential.. -Bulletproof and Waterproof don't mean Idiotproof.
