Need a real good fore end stock for a Ithaca 49 saddle carbine 22. Gun does not have a dove tail front sight. Has the slip on barrel band. I am going to refinish it but the wood must be in pretty good shape with no busted parts. Ray

My youngest boy has one that I refinished for him. It’s a neat little rifle. If I were you I would try Numrich gun parts, Jack First or Gunbroker. Good luck!

Tried Numerich...out. Tried Jack... no listing and didn't find one on GB. Was hoping some one on here had one. Thanks for the help. How did you finish the receiver ?

No problem. I just painted it and surprisingly it’s held up pretty well.

They came in two finishes, a lighter oak looking color, made of elm, and then a darker colored one like walnut stain. They don't interchange and match well, even when stripped down and re stained. Which finish do you need ? I may have one to part with.

This one went thru a fire and was scorched and I have had to do a lot of rasping and sanding of the butt stock to get past the burn in the wood but I think it was the dark one. Pretty wood when you get down to it. You would be doing me a big favor if you have one. This will probably be the last gun I redo. Ray
