I just picked up a Remington 750 on GB. It has a Scheels 4.5-14x40 AO scope mounted on it. (Silly combo made even sillier by the see-thru scope mounts, IMHO.) Can anybody school me on what company manufactured the scope? I've seen some vague postings that Scheels scopes may have been built by Nikon, but I'd like to learn what you know, too. Thanks for your time.

I seem to recall that when Scheels first started offering scopes branded with their name that the scopes wee made by Burris, I know for a while the Scheels brand binoculars were made by Burris.

I’ve never seen a Scheels rifle scope. Thank you, Gelett Burgess.

I've seen a few and thought about getting one. If I remember right, they have a no questions lifetime warranty. I heard not too long ago someone needed to use the warranty. They don't sell them any more so it was replaced with a similar quality scope from a different manufacturer. I think of Scheels the way Cabelas used to be. I don't think they are quite as forgiving on everything, but they will stand behind their warranty.

I live in the heart of Scheels country, I worked for them during college (prior to them having private label scopes). I've never purchased a Scheels scope outright, but I've gotten a few of them on used rifles I've purchased. I haven't a clue who made them despite trying reasonably hard to find out from a few folks I know who work in their corporate office.
I would put them in the class of Swift scopes.

Scheels has relabeled several scopes. Then they started designing their own and had them made to their spec. Weaver, Burris, Nikon, Carson, Paragon, Vortex and others have made Scheels store brand. The current warranty policy is to refund you full purchase price of your receipt on a gift card. If you don’t have the receipt, you get the lowest price in their computer which is the clearance price, typically about half price.

Lots of good info. provided, and it seems there is no real reason to buy a Scheels scope or optic. They are simply a rebrander as mentioned.
There must be a good margin made by companies to sell these mostly China made optics. The warranty replacement thing is what gets to many of them.
Scheels does very well, I have purchased many things there, they are in my area.
