What are you supposed to do if you own a pair of elephant tusks that you have shot? Federal law says you're allowed to keep them (each one has a code on it) but not allowed to transfer ownership. Are you supposed to throw them away?
BTW: This is just the start. Pretty soon thy'll outlaw bear hunting, then elk, then... According the the wording of the law I read, if you already possess those things on the banned list, AND have a certificate from the USFW from prior to 1 Jan 2021, you are allowed to possess those banned items. Bona fide educational institutions also. CA banned bear hunting with dogs many years ago. Banned all lion hunting. Can hunt but not sell bobcat pelts. All that kinda sucks. A lot.

The have roving snitch squads that turn in people who water their lawns during the dry years.
Inform Comrade, INFORM! Remember, Komradski...................... we're all in it together. Do the informants get an extra half hour of water? They informed on Korolev..........sent him to the Gulag. Yes....he came back and fathered the Space Program.........but suffered greatly from the treatment. Died young as a result. Thats where this is headed......people turning on each other and turning each other in to spare themselves the public execution by the PC Directorate.

Unless I'm mistaken, y'all already have big lakes in norcal where no fishing is allowed. The only ones I know of are lakes that were completely shut down because of the Chinese Muscles, not because of anti-fishing groups. But they will try anything to force veganism on society.

Its a 'feel good' measure....have your trophies shipped nearby out of state...go pick them up yourself.
Who exactly is gonna enforce it...especially with police being defunded..
Of course the answer is always to move the hell out of there to someplace in America... If any here want African trophies shipped to NW NV just let me know. I'm near Reno and have room for them until you can come get them. Oh, and it will cost you a beer.

Jim, if I come up for a visit, don't sell me any homegrown rabbit skins or meat. Or beef, or wheat. Probably some sort of rule against it. I wouldn't want your neighbors to be turned into informants. PS does MT have strict rules on selling locally butchered meat? Only for family consumption unless there's an inspector on site?

Yeah but nobody required any certificate from the USFW to conform to the law, and none were offered, unless this is very recent. Catch 22.

Another thing to the OP...you say you've got a great job. Unless I'm mistaken, you've said before that your wife does too. Look at what Ingwe said about $2 an hour. If you live where people vote conservative, it will likely cost you money in your job. You also may not be living in some paradise. Places where people are still conservative are generally places that are real hot, real cold or maybe both and don't pay shixt for wages. Sometimes they have good hunting and/or fishing, sometimes not. The metro areas and highly populated states are the places that pay up and also the places you will be inundated with people who vote Commie and many times don't look like you or maybe even speak your language. ] True, for some reason liberals are always willing to pull up stakes and move to where the weather is nice, and the jobs pay, only thing that seems to get conservatives to pull up stakes, is running from liberals.

Never heard of any publicly owned lakes/reservoirs "shut down". The may have instituted vessel inspections and cleaning stations, maybe a short shut down until they could get those in place. But I never heard of any shut. Maybe during certain seasons, for certain species. Then again, I've been mistaken. Private lakes/reservoirs, some owned by power and water companies have been closed for years and years.

Again, I've been mistaken before and will likely be again someday.

Aren't you the person that jumps all over others for criticizing Kalifornians? just curious I joined a group on Facebook called California Big Game Hunters yesterday because I wanted to talk about California banning the import of African big game trophies. This measure passed the other day by a 5 to 1 margin. I swear to God, 50% of the reactions were all for the ban....in fact the moderators put a lock on the post preventing further comment. Then....I made a poster on that page that said. CAN WE HAVE A CALM, RATIONAL DISCUSSION ABOUT HOW POLITICS AFFECT YOUR HUNTING AND GUN RIGHTS IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA? THEY REMOVED IT. Mind you this is a group called California big game hunters with several thousand members. I will most likely never be able to hunt Africa, but by God I stand strongly with All hunters and All gun owners. This division will certainly be the end of us. California brainwashes the fu gg out of people from a very early age. I used to really get pissed when I would hear people refer to us as California conservatives...like we are lightweight pussy conservatives....but I am truly starting to believe it is true for the most part....this is just pathetic. I'm so ashamed of where I live and understand the dislike of people from this state.

Don't get me wrong, Id take Montana a million times over where I live now, but I was there last week and the libs, hipsters and metrosexuals I saw overwhelming Bozeman and Belgrade was so disheartening, it looked like San Francisco. The fact that that region along with Butte and Missoula were able to put a Democrat in as Governor is so sad. I agree with several prior posters, that the mentors of liberalism found their secret weapon many years ago in the indoctrination of America's youth through academia.

If "possession" is illegal with no "grandfather" clause, how can the State suddenly outlaw what has been hanging on private walls for years, even decades?
Are the possum cops gonna slip around, peeking in windows, looking for trophies hanging on walls?
Or do the libs organize a band of "brown shirts" to rat out family and neighbors with trophies?
And who's gonna compensate for seized property? Big bucks, especially with major collections.
Or, how does one with trophies deal with possession of newly declared contraband?
I see a bunch of legal issues in all this feel good, P.C. mania. Ya reckon they've thought this thru, or is this just another feel good, knee jerk exercise without consideration of ultimate consequences.

Some animals like lion, elephant and I think leopard cannot be imported at all.

Most California conservatives are moderate liberals. They only seem conservative while living in a sea of socialist. When they move somewhere conservative they immediately appear as what they really are , liberals. They immediately vote for a liberal agenda and begin the process of turning a once nice conservative area into a liberal chithole on its way to becoming a socialist hellhole.

How many Californians do you know? In total? Just to check how you can declare " Most" conservatives here are liberals, of the moderate persuasion. (if you had said "Many" instead of "Most" it might have carried more weight without seeing the numbers behind your opinion)
