Saw them with the Stones a few years later.

Slaves get what they need. Free men get what they want.

Rehabilitation is way overrated.

I'm half way through it and half to say Thanks. About that time maybe 6 months or so later I discovered them. I was still Walk This Way and Boston waiting on the FM for hours to play "that" song. Not too long after I heard Eruption lead into I really got you was added to that moment when you tell everyone to shut up and listen to THIS! Of course the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac Rumors was kicking it with lots of radio play.

They were with Black Sabbath on that tour and from what Ozzy has said, Van Halen absolutely blew them off the stage. Said it was embarrassing, VH should've been the headliner.

They rarely visited Nashville during the Roth era, did catch a Hagar version in the early 90s

Back when you had to stand in line for a few hours for good tickets.

Stood in line about 30 hours for some Pink Floyd tickets, my piss froze on the sidewalk at the mall. Got front row, center though. Badass.

The Ozzy era of Sabbath was on life support on that tour. Ozzy had left in '77 and was replaced by Dave Walker. He came back for the ill fated "Never Say Die" album and that '78 tour, their 10th Anniversary. Bill Ward was in a bad way with the booze and Iommi and Butler were tired of the bullshit. They were definitely not at the top of their game. Dio came in a year later and took them to a whole new realm.
