7.62x51 mil ball ammo in 5 rd strippers, 2 to a pocket, 5 pocket bandoleers tops still sewed shut so 50 rds to a bandoleer. M14 ammo? Headstamped m80/m60? Out and out mg ammo would be in 100 rd belts right? Neighbor has 4 of these bandoleers what are they worth? MB

M80 is standard 147gr FMJ ammo. Fifty cents a piece +/-.

Post the lot number on the bandoleer. That should help identify the country of origin and type of ammo.

Might be collectable, but my sole experience with military ball, M118 match, was a big disappointment for shooting. I sold the remainder of the 200 rounds I had to a believer.

M118 match could be crap or very good. I sorted some for run-out and made a clear demonstration of its effects for a friend of mine. He did the shooting not knowing what he was testing.

Bought mine from my son, all the same lot, 1973 mfg IIRC (!). I think the guy who bought it really wanted the brass. The loads I crank out with ordinary LC and no particular care on the other hand shoot very well. Despite all the advancements in cartridges, the .308 remains a personal favorite. I could get by very well with only that.

Did I actually say that!!!😱
