Yes, I would like it in the book. It looks like a short rifle with checkering that was available in the first few years of 1899 production.

The silent movie rifle is available too, but I still haven't lettered it.

Roy, I would like the silent movie rifle also. A letter would be helpful but it may not include the plating. Can you get photos of them or bring them here for me to photograph?

No disrespect to professional photographers, but every kid with a cell phone has better equipment than most pros did 10 years ago. It should be easy to transfer pictures to David, from wherever You are.

Lighting and glare are the big problems with gun photography.
It isn't as easy as it sounds.

Lighting is almost everything. Was photographing the Schutzen, a beautiful 1899 250-3000 and a really nice 99K earlier today. They didn't have a good place llighting wise for me to shoot the pics. The Schutzen isn't as shiny as the other two which will end up on the cutting room floor. The pics of the Schutzen are usable barely. I will have to rig up some sort of a black curtain to take with me to any other field shoots. The best way to light guns is in a room with no outside light and strong lights aimed at a preferably off white ceiling Not at the rifle. Then you still have to move the lights around to get rid of reflections. I use nine lights in my studio. I will post pics of the setup once I get it back up. High resolution runs a close second to proper lighting. I'm not sure if there are cell phones with super high resolution. A 35 mm digital camera is hard to beat.

This is an example of how unwanted light can affect a photo. Those light blue streaks streaming in from the beautiful blue sky don't get it. I was crouched over shading the stock as best I could to block the light and the photo still sucks. The editor at the Publisher would throw a photo like this out. Unfortunately I deleted the one in which the stock appeared to be stained blue. I won't quote what I was saying at the time. The owner was out of earshot.

Hello David,
I have one to talk to you about.
I will contact you tomorrow.
