Anybody have any experience/comparisons? Really intrigued by them for a treestand bino for whitetails with the 399' FOV and 8.5 mag with 42mm objectives, epsecially at Doug's price.

Lots of people I see. I'm looking for a sub $400 8x42 class bino with a locking diopter.

I'm trying really hard not to call Doug and ask for a package price on these with the Athlon rangefinder....

Fine, you twisted my arm. Order placed! Really think the specs look great for a 8.5x bino as long as you don't care about weight.

I have checked it out. It's good but not anything superior than the Vortex, GPO or Sig optically

That's a shame, as I found the Vortex and Sig to be severely lacking in optical quality. If GPO is no better than those two they need to go back to the drawing board.

I bought mine about 3 months ago from Doug, and was immediately blown away by how good they are.

I'm not enough of an optic snob to start babbling on & on about all the idiosyncrasies that some tend to do. However, edge to edge clarity is fantastic, and overall image is crystal clear. I've spent quite a bit of time behind then, and am considering adding the 10X to the fold.

They are a f'ing steal......

ChrisAU, can you give some feedback on these Athlon Cronus 8.5x42 ? I've been thinking about these and would like some feedback from someone who has bought them. Thanks
