Potato growers are becoming bigger and bigger.

Do not meet one of these diggers in a two lane Rd,

I'm back, I've been on the phone with a Canadian friend, no charge, Google Voice, Thank you Denton.

Jim, do you call New Zeeland much? Google Voice might charge two cents a minute.

Back to farm stuff, a classmate has sheds full of scale models, and, big sheds full of full of restored Deere machines.

That chopper is a beast, we don't see stuff like that here. My friends just upgraded to a new to them combine and will have to block traffic to move it.

I make a point to buy farm toys for my various nephews and great nephews and take them to the farm. They need to see where their food comes from.

One of my neighbors just started using a rotary. With the amount of rocks we have around, I’m too chicken to even go there. But when he’s cutting, he’s really getting things done.

What’s speeding things up is the new balers. If you can keep them running...

Back in the day when New Holland first came out with their rotary combines I became acquainted with a custom operator who would buy 15 new combines every year, run them that season and trade them in, then buy new ones the next year. He did the same with cotton pickers. Back in the seventies I think.

I'm still running an old NH 488 Haybine. I can't cut 33 acres a day........lol. Of course, I don't need to, and that's why your machinery should match the size of your operation.

That dealer sells one every two years, New Holland makes 35 a year.

Want to be a dairy farmer, or big cattle feeder?
Local dealer had me testing one of those as a demonstrator... It was "OK" , but just that.. 900hp Fiat engine, and I could fill a wagon (60K# running gear) in a hair over 5 minutes with chopped corn.. But Tom didn't like the fact that once the rpms got below 1400 it just lost all torque, while the CLAAS 960 he's running now kept up pretty well down to 1200 or so..
