Now that it appears the farm I've been hunting is just about sold, I decided I don't need 3 deer rifles any more. For your consideration is a Browning Low Wall in the scarce .260 Remington. Only 200 were made in this caliber and it has a good bit of collector interest for that reason. With the exception of a scratch in the buttstock from climbing into a ladder stand, it is 100 percent mint. Original Box with original papers and hang tag. Less then one box fired out of it, but it did knock down several whitetails. Scope is not included in the price but we can talk about that. Scope is a high gloss 2.5 x 8 Power Leupold, and it is also mint. Browning rings and bases. Price TYD is $2,500 firm. PS. Browning put nice wood in their low walls, but this is some of the nicest wood you will see. If other pics are desired let me know. FFL required of course. Also have it listed on GI.

I did. Was very careful with it, but was climbing into a ladder stand and the edge of the metal stair caught it at the last second. Only mark on the gun is that one.

These are beautiful rifles and super hard to find in .260 Remington.
I had Lee Shaver lighten the trigger in mine and it wears a Leupold 3x9 at this time.
I’m careful where and when I hunt with it, but it has two elk kills to it’s credit, so far with Hornady 129 IL.

Good luck with your sale.

Beautiful gun and a good price. These don’t come up very often. Paying off a Shiloh and a custom revolver or I would be all over this one. Damn

I have one of these in 260 with that exact scope and a Lee Shaver trigger. It'll never be for sale and has made my low wall in 338 Federal obsolete. I have gotten good accuracy with all bullet weights, including 140s, but in a 6.5 like this I think you're just as well off with 120s.

And I'm not trying to get anyone to mess with a collector's piece here, but these guns look killer with satin finished stocks and Turnbull CCH.

I shot Federal Premium Ballistic Tips out of this one. Forgot the grain weight, but everything was one shot one kill. [Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

Beautiful.

Probably shouldn't ask this, but are you in VA, and if so, where?

Any good ideas on how to get rid of the scratch. At least to make the white line less visible?

There are petroleum wood based polishes that will make it less visible but that will also need frequent reapplication.

If it's not all the way through the finish you could rub it with some automotive polish alone or take a detailing sanding block with 2000 grit paper and mineral spirits to wet sand it as close to invisible as possible, then either continue to 3k and 4k grit or use a buffing compound to bring it back to a uniform shine. Must be careful not to cut through the finish anywhere, or it will look worse than an honest scratch.

I'd start with the auto polish either by hand or gently with a Dremel on low speed and go from there.

Had a beautiful 243, looked like this one's twin. Last time zeroing before a hunt, shot the first two shots 1/2" apart......200 yds. They are quite accurate. My Son dropped his first 2 deer with it, one around 300 yds, the other just under....not bad.
