Anyone been up there recently? If so, how were the crowds and the dispersed camping? I have been the past few years and am thinking of going again but am concerned it is a total zoo.

I was up in there last week. Taylor Park, and around the reservoir there were fine. Back towards Gunnison it was nuts. Back towards Buena Vista it was nuts. I went to Tincup and it was fine. Also went to St. Elmo and it was nuts. The hot springs at Mt. Princeton were packed.

I did. It was fine. I was through there early, on a weekday. Looked to be about 50%. I was up at Twin Lakes recently and it was about the same. Lake Pueblo State Park on the other hand is packed to the gills...!

Thanks. I assume cottonwood is paved and open by now, which probably makes the crowds even worse.

Cottonwood Pass is paved all the way. And it’s wide open. Roadway is completely clear. Early in the day the crowds at the top of the pass aren’t bad at all.

There’s a great bicycle trail from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. 42 miles. Follows the Roaring Fork between Carbondale and Glenwood Springs.
