I bought the exact same one about six months ago and I love it...and the price is hard to argue with.
The instructions warn against using Aluminum oxide or sand in it but I regularly used a 3 to 1 mix of glass beads to aluminum oxide with no apparent ill effects. I really like this mix (I buy it at Rutland) because it gives a beautiful finish but is just abrasive enough to remove the small stuff without the worries associated with the more aggressive products.
When I do longer pieces (like barrels) I just take it outside and drape and tape a couple pieces of canvas with slits for the barrel down over the open side doors and wear a canister protective mask with a full sandblasting hood over that.

I figured I'd do the same for the longer pieces. I just need to get the light kit for this one...

i fitted a toilet floor flange fixture to the side of mine with a capped piece of pvc pipe on it. that way i can put a barrel in and do a little greater than half and turn it around to do the other half.

MM I dont mix it myself I buy it from my local Rutland tool and supply shop ( www.rutlandtool.com ). Their part number is #25982026. You can get it in two different grit combinations.
