All, I posted a while back asking about new makers, well there were a lot of fantastic suggestions there, but after 15 months my name came up on Ingram's list. My challenge now is deciding what to order. Its tough to tell the differences between models from the example pics. Here's what Im looking for:
3.5" blade with a nice drop point for unzipping hides and a little curve in the belly for skinning. About 1" blade depth would be perfect. Some patterns that I'm liking so far: Woodman, Hunter, swayback. All choices would have tapered tang to reduce weight.
Another route Im consider are the more slim profile designs like the lite hunter and trim hunter, but I can't tell how much smaller these are from the ones mentioned above.
Opinions from those experienced with Ingram?

I’ve never called Gene.
Emailed back and forth a bunch.
He’ll give you all the info you need.
Or even tweek a model to your liking.
Like ABC blade with an xyz handle.
He’s a stretched or shortened blades lengths for me.

I like a 3” blade as a good “all rounder”. I have Ingram’s, Winstons, and Mays in 2 3/4, 3”, and 4 1/4” blade lengths The trim hunter is a favorite of mine and I think it would excel at the tasks you mentioned Here’s mine

I spoke with gene on the phone about this one. Never even discussed blade stock to be honest.

Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.

"Woodman"....very nice...unique
I don't always venture out into the sub-freezing darkness, but when I do, it is deer hunting season, and I carry a Remington. Stay hungry my friends.
