This may be a stupid question but here goes: Are the chambers of new Model 94 Winchester 38/55 rifles cut to allow for use of the original 38/55 cartridge whose case dimensions were longer than the 375 Winchester? I see that Starline offers two case lengths for 38/55; the original and one that is pretty much identical to the 375 Win.

I don't have much experience with the newer Winchesters but I think it is safe to say that if the gun is marked 38-55 then it will accept the standard 38-55 cartridge. Since the 375 is slightly shorter you should be able to size and then use 375 cases in the 38-55 chamber.

I recall someone telling me that the new 38-55s use a .375 groove diameter but I am not certain if that is true
