If so you might check with Wal-Mart to see if they will take it. Local one took mine at full face value. Small box, 4"x8"x10", $680 in quarters. About to make another trip in same box with pennies, nickles, and dimes. Said they need dimes most.

Just trying to relieve it. 15 years of throwing change in boxes adds up.

Just curious - why wouldn't someone pay full face value for coins?

A lot of companies with change machines, charge to have you run your change through their machine. Not all of them, but Walmart typically charges. I don't take my change there, so I don't remember what percentage they charge, I suspect someone will say.
Guess you started typing before I did.

The bank I use here in town will do it for no charge. I think the tellers get a kick out of playing with it.

I have about ten gallons full of change. Plus another 5 gallons of pennies. . The last time I cashed in I had Around 15 gallons, about 3500 dollars worth. Never have turned in the pennies. My bank won’t charge to count it if it’s rolled, but they will if it’s loose. If somebody’s gonna machine sort it I want to stand there and watch them.

Just curious - why wouldn't someone pay full face value for coins? Some of those machines in grocery stores take 10% for counting/processing. Oops sorry TRH. I didn't scroll all the way down... I have deemed myself redundant..

No buckets of change here but I save quarters in the little cylindrical plastic containers I get my cholesterol pills from the pharmacy in. Inside diameter is perfect for stacking quarters in. Forgot what a full one is worth but I give them to grandkids as a bonus Christmas or birthday gift besides the regular gift. Gave myself one recently when the coin crunch began. I felt guilty about hoarding quarters but they all get back into circulation soon enough.
