My first fish was a bluegill and I think I was about 5. My father and I were anchored about 15’ from a little island in a private pond using a cane pole and worms or crickets. I hooked one and was pulling, trying to get it to the boat and my father said, “pull harder”. Well, I gave a yank and that sucker flew from the open water on one side of the boat almost to the island on the other side. I got him though 😊
Kids and bluegills..... hard to beat.

Do not discount how important some of you are to your kids doing these activities. My dad was always on the road and I don't think he really knew much about hunting and fishing and camping. I would kind of venture out on my own or with a friend. My dad was truly a great man but I think I would have treasured moments like these with him.

Stearns? Milhouse? Or is that the 68th St bridge in the background? Doesn't matter. Fish fry at Mags tonight!
Kudos to the lad. Looks like he was having a blast! 68th street bridge would be to the left, straight ahead is the cow farm. Nobody is fishing that backwater right now so there is no pressure on the fish. we ran out of worms so we left. I'll bet we caught close to 50 fish today in 2 1/2 hours. That smile on young Mr. Aiden makes it all worth it. Nicely done Paul.
