So a Gold Cup National Match Mk IV series 80 from 1994 would be a go at $900???? Asking for a friend....LOL
Not a bad price in good shape with box. I don't buy 1911's without feeling the actual gun unless it is NIB. I think the only things modified more than 1911's are Honda Civic's by young men.
Gun Shows are almost as comical as boat ramps in the Spring.

Well...just for general use a contemporary 1911 has a beavertail grip safety, extended safety, Novak rear sight, dovetail front sight, checkered front strap, Commander hammer and lowered ejection port for starters...
The Gold Cup doesn't have any of those features...it does have National Match engraved on the slide however...
I'm not sure that a 1911 needs an adjustable rear sight although I'm building one with a Bomar right now...
I'm pretty happy with a stock 1911-A1...
But that's me... if that's what you want...buy it...

My post was FYI to the OP. to point out that a 1911 for general use would have different features. I didn't get the impression he wanted to compete with it just asking for comparative info on 1911s in general.

The late Bill Allard, who got into more shootings than any other NYPD cop, used a personally owned Colt National Match .45 in most of his gunfights. Worked well for him. He was also a pretty good bullseye shooter (former civilian national pistol champion). Bob
