They need to show the underside of the barreled action. There it would have the date stamp on the barrel and would also be marked "super". The recoil lug should also have a backwards S stamped on it.. They should also pull the front sight hood to show the front sight, as the fwt supergrades had a specialized front sight. Rule shows pics of 3 different front sights it could have.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

May very well be an original SG Fwt, but what good is it with that pad? That’s why there are no bids on it.

Thanks BSA, I've asked him to post additional photos.
Yeah Pocono, that recoil pad is a mess.

I'd say that bolt handle has been reblued and I believe that is not the factory grip cap.

Nyrifleman: In addition to the re-blue of the bolt and the horrific recoil pad I have grave concerns about what may just be to be 2 (two!) different style proof marks there at the intersection of the barrel and the action. I would pass at anywhere NEAR the "asking" price. Long live the Riflemans Rifle. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

,,,grip cap, metal, is correct. Bolt appears re-blued and maybe(?) scalloped to clear scope.

Bolt handle doesn't appear to be altered but definately has been polished and reblued.

Thanks gents.
A SG FW in .270 is on my wish list, I didn't intend to buy this one due to the recoil pad, but I was hoping for an education on what to look for.
Appreciate the feedback.

If it was less than half the asking price it would make a good hunter

If it was less than half the asking price it would make a good hunter That’s even a stretch, would much rather hunt with an honest, unmolested, LC 270 Fwt. Ymmv.
