The inside of a car can get hot as an oven. What has concerened me is the effect on my cell phone. Left inside well I'm camping or hunting somewhere without signal. I shut it off and put it under the seat or in another spot out of direct sun light. So far no damage has occured. I would think a loaded gun or container of ammo would be capable of greater indurance than the phone battery. I have shot ammo hot enough to burn my hands. So far no bad effects. I try to use whatever prudent care is avialable just like the phone. Use up ammo thats been over exposed etc..

Typically it takes years of accumulated affect to have any real impact. If you change your ammo out every year, or even every couple of years, you will never see a measurable effect.

Do you have link to where you obtained this knowledge? It could be an interesting read.

I was hunting whitetail at a friends in North Carolina and left my 357 Max handloads in the Jeep. These were max loads and shot perfectly in Pennsylvania with cooler temps. The sun heated them up and when I shot a few rounds to check the scope they tied up the revolver with every shot..I had the chance to reshoot them back in Penn. and they shot perfectly with the cooler temps.....[Linked Image from hosting.photobucket.com]

My Brother had .45 cast bulled loads in the trunk of his car all day in hot weather, and they just went "pop" when fired.

We figured the bullet lube melted and contaminated the powder.

Note to self: Only use jacketed bullet loads for car gun.

Another good argument for the use of “powder coated” cast bullets ! memtb

I am sure the military has performed an extensive study for their desert warfare school.

When women buy a new vehicle the first thing they decide is the color.

This is nice way of my saying that you should stop acting like a f a g g o t.
