Ontario Rat II. https://gun.deals/product/ontario-knife-okc-rat-ii-satin-folding-knife-7-2365Have a Rat I in D2 I bought last year. Didn't carry it much then because at that time I was still recovering from surgery on my hand. It's getting a lot more use now. My Rat I in D2 cuts brown truck boxes filled with "other" very well. Lol.

I like those knives.
Haven’t tried the d2 version.
Aus8 is easy to sharpen.
I’ll carry on at work. Cut, scrape stuff.
No tears if it gets lost.

I bought one of the AUS 8 Rat 1 knives back in 2011, and it has given great service. Picked up a D2 version a few years back, It's even better

I've been carrying a Rat 7'' with a D2 blade for months and I really like it. Holds a good edge, it's rugged, and it's easy to resharpen too. For the price, what's not to like.

Bought a Rat 2 in D2 a couple years ago and really like it. Been my EDC since then.
Like said above, easy to sharpen and holds and edge. Really like it for the price and it won't ruin your day if something were to happen to it. . Need to get another for a backup.

Thanks to this thread, just ordered a OD green Rat II with D2 satin blade to keep my SS Delica and CF Leek company. About 3 weeks out due to manufacturing delays, but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

Same here - bought a Rat 2 in D2 a year or so ago based on input on this site. Misplaced it a few days ago so ordered another one yesterday (and of course found the 'lost' one a couple hours later). My backup is now on the way

found a decent deal on a Rat 2 in D2 steel. Black coated blade, carbon fiber scales. Should have it in a couple of days. Most dealers seem to be out of stock on the D2 Rat folders.

Is the black finish just for looks or is there a benefit to it? I just noticed the carbon scales are a bit thicker than the textured nylon on my other one...

the finish seems to be very durable, and it offers protection to the steel.
