I bought a red dot scope for my Glock a couple of months ago. They only place that had in stock was optics planet. Scope came, I mounted it and went to sight it in. The elevation feature of the scope did not work- could not change the dot in a vertical plane. I was in the process of moving to Alaska so I just wanted a refund. Optics planet had NO customer service dept. They blamed it on C19. They don't answer phones and they don't respond to emails. I went through their online return process. I wanted a straight refund rather than another scope. I shipped the defective scope back to them and they refunded me. A few days later I got a notice that they were going to ship me another one. I immediately responded that I did not want another one. They sent it anyway. They hit my CC for a second time. Again, no customer service available. For me to return it I have to have my wife ship it to me then ship it to them and probably the same thing will happen again. What a chitty way to do business. I have an extra scope now and I will never send another dime towards optics planters. I wish someone else had carried the scope I wanted but it wasn't to be.
They are right their with Starbuck and BLM in my opinion.

Dispute the 2nd charge w/your CC Co. Send them the E-mail string.

Yep a couple of times. I bought a 6-18x40 Nikon Buckmaster about 10 years ago and here about three or four years back I bought a Leupold VX-2 4-12x40 with Adjustable Objective for Parallax on sale for right at $300. Damn good scopes both of them. Of course I know that fact has nothing to do with Optics Planet but they seemed very pleasant to deal with and I was satisfied with the scopes. Of course had I had your experience with them I'm sure I wouldn't have been as thrilled.

I have used them several times without a problem. I think the CS BS is due to the Covid jamming up all the online sellers, Midway is the same story, you can't talk to them and they don't respond to emails. Just dispute the charge with your CC and make it their problem. Tell them you will return the sight when they provide you with a pre-paid mail label.

I have used them successfully a bunch of times and often shown support to them here. However, a recent transaction, with DVOR, pissed me off to the max. Where are they? Indianapolis maybe? Figure when they need to hire a bunch of new folks they get good ones? Chit no.

Only once last year when I “needed” a Trijicon RMR for my .45 and naturally my first call was to Doug, but he didn’t stock Trijicon and Optics Planet had the RMR in stock. That was before all the virus slow down stuff and I negotiated a good price over the phone. A good price, in stock, next day shipping, tracking number via email and a Midwest supplier. I couldn’t have asked for better service.
My other auto is a .45

I've used them a lot W/O issues, some great discounts also. As someone said, dispute the CC charge and make them send you prepaid postage for the return. Good luck.

Have ordered a bunch of stuff from them, and did one return that was handled without issue. No problems so far.

They show items in stock when I question them being in stock. Slow shipping, but eventually you get your order. Last resort place for me. YMMV

They're absolutely terrible. I've had things that were supposed to arrive in a week show up 1-2 months late and they never at any point try to keep you updated to the changes. When I called them out on it I was told that they don't have time to keep all their customers updated on shipping changes.
