Looking at a Foxtrot Mike with the side charging handle, around 6-8" barrel.

Guy at the gun show today had some Bear Creek Arsenal uppers for $375. What are your thoughts on BCA? I wasn't overly
impressed with them, but they looked functional.

What is your recommendation for a 9 mm pistol AR upper in the $350 - $500 range.

Also, Thoughts on the Tennessee Arms Polymer lowers for a 9 mm Pistol AR build

Thanks; John

My first AR complete upper I bought was a BCA, the son has a 7.62x39 7.5” side charge BCA. That thing broke me from ever buying another BCA product. After 7 shots the screws fall out of the hand guard and side charging handle is loose as a goose. BCA sent new ones, but he said it’s no change. My 16” 223 Wylde has been fine so far. I just use it for plinking, it’s definitely not a match barrel. Son’s buddy has a BCA 5.56 upper on a Spikes Tactical lower, the guy told me he’ll spend the extra for an Aero upper next time around.

cmmg which is not a top tier brand, probably mid tier is about $700 for their 9mm upper.

I have 2 of the Tennessee Arms 9mm lowers I have not built into a gun yet. I will do a rifle if I do. Mine seem to be plenty sturdy and well designed for being polymer. I have some .223 TA poly lowers and they perform as well as an aluminum one with a light weight 16" carbine .223/5.56 upper. They are lighter so they don't feel like an aluminum one. If you want a light weight rifle or pistol this is an option.

If you want a quality poly lower, buy a kaiser, i have a kaiser and a TA, and no comparison IMO. Big thing with the TA is the takedown pin id is tapered and out of spec. Roberts and TA would never address that.

I built a TA poly lower AR9. While my round count is low, it functions fine. I think it was $40 so if it fails I will buy another.
