I've owned quite a few in past years but this is my favorite "run-n-gun" for the last 6-7 years.

Benelli SBE 1... killed many a critter with it for almost 20 years.
However - I also have a Browning Gold 10 lite - Which is one hell of a lot of smack down and make the SBE look like a kids gun

A 1300 Winchester Black Shadow with 22 inch barrel and rifle sights, a Primos XF tube and Winchester LongBeard #5s, if you please. No nonsense, light and reliable. And yes, kills further out than 50 yards.

You dont see them on the used racks so they must be keepers

I've owned two 1300 Black Shadows. Speed pumps, IIRC was how these shotguns were marketed.
Both reliable / no issues.

Never shot a gobbler with a .22 Hornet but I killed several with .222 Rem and .223 Rem. I found it easier to kill them in the thick woods I hunt by Blowing their head's off with a shotgun 😁......Hb

Savage .22 Hornet over 3 inch 12 gauge works well out to about 150 yards. Turkey scope tells me which barrel to fire and it is dead on. Also good for close in varmints and prairie dogs out to 150 yards.

Bout impossible to beat the pump/auto of your liking for gobblers. Nothing else comes close. Im talking main stream autos and pumps too, not the mag fed AR style autos.

We are just getting a good stock of turkeys here in NB. Most came over from Maine. Would have had our 1st season here this year but for the covid it was cancelled.
Saying that, I have never hunted turkey in my life but in preparation for the possible upcoming season next year, I bought a 21" turkey bbl for my 870 Special Purpose. Barrel is matte with vent rib and screw tubes. I will get a proper choke for it and top it with an optic of some sort mounted on a saddle.

Before you pay for an aftermarket turkey choke try the factory Full choke, you may be pleasantly surprised at how good it patterns with some good turkey loads like the excellent Winchester Longbeard XR loads....Good luck..Hb

When you get your season head out to the Minto area and start calling... you're equipped with your 870 and an XF choke tube! ( Winchester Longbeard XR will seal the deal )

Also good for close in varmints and prairie dogs out to 150 yards. How well does the shotgun shoot to rifle aiming point? My 223/12 ga are centered horizontally, but there is about 12 inch vertical separation. How did you handle any difference?

I've owned quite a few in past years but this is my favorite "run-n-gun" for the last 6-7 years. Whats the gun and the red dot mount? The gun is a Benelli M2 with a 21" barrel and an Indian Creek turkey choke. The mount is a B-Square rib mount which I cut short,so it wouldn't overhang the receiver. The red dot sight is a Burris Fast-Fire III. It also sports a Benelli Steady Grip stock. PM sent.
