We just got the word on the price of printing Gun Gack III, and will have books by October. The shipped price is $32.25, a little less than the first two Gun Gacks because GGIII has fewer pages--though not fewer words. The last quarter of this book is "Questions From The Campfire," a collection of interesting and pertinent questions from you guys over the years, along with my answers, many of which have been updated since they appeared. The Campfire question section has fewer photos than the rest of the book, the reason for slightly fewer pages--though it's still a big book, almost 400 pages! You can pre-order it now on www.riflesandrecipes.com. I'll also be sending a private message to everybody who requested being put on the pre-publication list. Eileen also wants to thank those who keep ordering the first two Gun Gacks. In fact, we just had to reprint the first book--it's 6th printing. Good hunting, John

Thanks for the note. I just ordered it. When does GG IV come out?

Done. I'll be sitting in a lawn chair beside the mailbox starting October 1. How about sticking a target cutout with one of your groups in my copy to use as a bookmark?

Done with one issue.
Your form checks for a 2 digit CVC number. My CVC or security code really does have a three digit number with a leading zero despite the invalid flag rejecting the order, I suppose against future need and for potential increased security. In any event the number on my card really is 3 digit. The leading (numbers) 0 obviously does not change the parity check. I dropped the leading zero and entered the last 2 digits number for the parity check and the form accepted the order.
I trust I will hear from you by eventually getting the book or reporting any issues.

I'm a little late to the party. I just got GG I a few weeks ago. Very pleased to see .25-20, one of my all time favorite cartridges. I will get II and III one of these days. I only hope they have some of my other favorite cartridges .22 HP, .303 Savage....

There's a chapter in GGII about loading all four Savage rounds, the .22 HP, .250-3000, .300 and .303.

Just ordered mine John. I'm on your pre-order roster from that thread a few months back, but no need now for a PM to remind me. Cheers, Rex

Thinking back to Bob Brownell's "Gunsmith Kinks" series of books, I think it would be great to have a book of epic posts and/or threads from The Campfire. (For the benefit of some of you kids, "Gunsmith Kinks" had nothing to do with your fantasies of Refrigerator Girl showing up at the door of your reloading shop with a come hither look and a bag of sex toys. They were collections of little tips and tricks [hacks, in today's vernacular] to solve gunsmithing problems or in general, make a gunsmith's life easier.)
There has been a plethora of good knowledge disseminated here over the years and a great deal of fun....someone should collect and edit it. Think of some of the heroes and villains we had here.
