I do have a slight beer belly which helps push the pants down, but not much.

Tightening my belt is like tying a rope around a stove pipe.

My carry guns are not real heavy, SW E Series Scandium Commander 1911 45, CZ PO6 40 SW.

I could use some recommendations on holsters that will not drag the pants down on this ass-less old fart.

That S&W is sweet. If you shoot it enough to crack or wear it out, the receiver the company will repair or replace it. Not bad for a 99% aluminum frame, huh?
How accurate is it, Steve?

Here's what I plan as soon as I get around to it. Maybe you would like to try it.
I don't care for suspenders, but with weight the gun belt won't work like it used to either.
I plan to make a shoulder holster. I already have good quality leather belts for shoulder straps and one inch mil spec elastic if I go that route. You might want to try it and see what you think, or buy a recommended brand. There's a few that I've not heard anything but praises for, but have no personal experience. I'll try to find a video that goes through start to finish how they are made if you want me to. Just ask.

Accuracy is good.

I have several 1911s, my most accurate is Dan Wesson Pointman 7 , it’s stainless and heavy so I don’t carry it, I just shoot it. It will do a 1 inch group at 25 off a rest. The SW will come damn close, but not quite. It is not only my carry gun, it is my favorite 45 at the range.

I shoot the SW off hand better that all of my other 1911s, cept for maybe my DW CBOB 10mm. Maybe it’s the Bobtail that works well foe me, duno,

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.

Sweet!
I've read whatever I could find on the DW too. Great choices!

When I picked one up just to hold at the shop counter I noticed that the S&W SC was exceptionally ergonomic.
I passed on it because the price was close to full retail new on one with holster wear. I guess it shows that they hold their value.
Besides reliability, I think that the qualities that you mentioned are most important for ccws. That kind of accuracy is extra icing on the cake. You normally have to pay big$ for that type of custom work on 1911s.

The extra durability puts that into the stainless category too, but without the weight.
Congratulations 👍
