I was a bit surprised that in all the time he’s was chasing her around no one stepped in to help her. Doesn’t seem like a tackle or leg sweep from behind would be that hard to pull off. But whip out your cell phone and get some good Farcebook video seems to be the modern response. Looking to get stabbed in the eye? That officer doesn't want to ground grapple with a worked up dude with a knife. And neither should you.

She waited too long. Very charitable of her, but put her in danger. The guy was obviously seeking suicide by cop. Little did he know, I guess, that most people survive handgun wounds, even to the torso. So all he got was a lot of painful recovery time and a prison sentence, and who knows what permanent medical issues connected to the injury. Spot on. Loved the one shot stop. I'm betting it wasn't a 9MM My inside source says 9mm, Speer Gold Dot, 124 Grain +P, through the gut.

Wonder how a counselor would have handled that situation in one of these newfangled "woke" cities? By holding up a teddy bear and asking the knife wielding dipshît to point to where he was touched. 🙄😎 That was pretty funny.

what was his story - he didn't sound insane, just stupid and angry His wife probably caught him foucking a blow up doll and moving to Alaska to hide in shame was not an option he could afford Yep Brought home a case of vinyleria disease, and she caught a dose.

Cop kept it together; used the most important tool - radio - very well. One safe shot, one good stop, one healthy officer. Does not get better. First year rookie has her stuff wired up.
Did I hear the bad guy say “Ooooo that hurt”? Educational day for him.

Cops aren't killers and should not be criticized for not appearing as killers. I for one think she did a damn good job.
I do wonder what would happen if the dude with the knife was "of color".

I think she didn’t want to shoot him and thought as a one year rookie thinks she could talk him out of it.
She looked pretty calm holstering her weapon. Valuable experience she won’t forget. Good job in my opinion.

You know that's the last thing she wanted to do.

It is unfortunate that modern cops have to make so much effort to de escalate dangerous situations increasing risk to themselves and others. Plenty of lightweights on here would say that she should have tased him or just shot the knife out of his hand. I am surprised that she shot him only once but she definitely stopped the threat.

mike r Yep. She did her job and did all that she could do to de escalate the situation. The guy is very lucky to be alive.

I'm glad he was the only one injured. In the right place he would not have made it out of that store. Hats off to this officer and I hope she has a long prosperous career.

Common sense on the CF? IF she doesn't know to shoot earlier why put yer ass on the line for her? it's not like she would give you a kidney if you needed one after being stabbed and possibly shot by her.

I am big. I am strong. I know some martial arts. I have stepped in on a half dozen occasions, and helped police officers under assault and helped wrestle criminals to the ground. But, you got a female cop with her gun on the bad guy, he has a knife. I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole. You could get stabbed. You could get shot.
