As of Wednesday, 14 of the seed species had been identified, according to the agency's Deputy Administrator Osama El-Lissy. This includes food staples like mustard and cabbage as well as herbs like mint, sage, rosemary and lavender. Flower breeds such as morning glory, hibiscus and roses were also discovered.

So far, nothing serious has been found but I still wouldn't plant them. I'd burn them. Even then, some seeds are highly impervious to fire. Maybe grinding them would be safer.

This is a test run by China. They want to find where the chinks are in our armor.

We should send them kale seed in reprisal! smirk

Kick it up a notch.

Send em a can of never-seez. Tell them it’s skin cream.

Who in the hell would plant a bunch of seeds from China when they don't even know what they are ? Even if I knew what they were I'd be afraid to plant anything from China. God only knows what they could be contaminated with. If they're from China it's probably some sort of disgusting invasive species, anyway.

Can we send them a bunch of soy boys to teach them how to appreciate it?

Hell no! I like kale. Good for the eyes too. Let them squint., and go blind from macular degeneration.

Dandelions and chickweed - that's the ticket! Maybe some horsetail.

I've see a dozen different memes on FB with people suggesting mailing goathead seeds back.

I lol'd at the first one, seemed fair.

Europeans brought dandelions to america for food.
Thats how i use it. If you like kale, try mixing it with dandelion young greens and see what you think.
You can eat the every part, flow, buds, stems, roots too.
Just be careful where there's ever been weed killer to avoid those areas.

Some our worst weeds probably came from there in the 1st place.

I sprayed the 4 dandelions in my yard with Weed B Gone on Friday.

One of my down the street neighbors has a "natural" lawn, mostly weeds and crabgrass, that looks like $hit, but he isn't paying to water and fertilize it either. I wonder if he eats his weeds?

Us agriculture recommended it during the great depression and WWs.

Eat what you want.
I have what most would say, the most landscaping in my community. My front is like a manicured golf course...organic. The weeds i leave around like plantain and dandelion are eaten. I don't like store bought greens. Its like fast food.
The neighbor who is the plant pathologist had millions of weeds and up to the knees seeds blowing all over the neighborhood.
He sprays that crap on his lawn too.

I don't care as long as he keeps his lousy weed bed of poison to himself. I'm not a lawn snob like my neighbors.

If your plant pathologist neighbor is spraying the weeds in his yard with either an OTC or commercial weed killer, he must not be trying very hard.

That's what I'm thinking. And they would only have to put a few seeds in a few packs.
