Female GSP flushes a field rat out of some rocks by the house. Rat runs along 3 of 4 sides of the house and back, GSP right behind it.
Final tally: 4 nice clay planters busted, 2 tomato plants flat, trash can dumped, multiple beer spillage, 5-gal bucket of garden tools scattered and the rat got away.

Sounds like you got the makings of a versatile hunting dog! She seems to like fur, how about feathers?

I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

A little obedience training would have taken care of that. Imagine a pheasant flying low over the interstate, the farmers cow, a porcupine etc.. You need be able to stop your dog no matter what. A stay/downstay/hup is one of the most important command right there with a recall.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.
