I just pulled up that area on Google earth. That could be some gnarly going late season. Good luck! It can get knarly in 2nd season. Worse now since it is a week later .I was stuck in my camper three days last year in 2nd season That has happened about 4 times over the years to me.I'm done with it , I'll let the young toughs fight that snow. I am with you there, dude! Even though my mind keeps telling me I still have it in me, I think back on all the snow and cold late seasons in the saddle, then pulling camp in single digit temps with snow up to your knees. It is a young man's game and it kicks ass on most of them as I recall. Very few had any bottom left come late season!

Thanks everyone for the input, it is much appreciated. A lot of information to chew on, and take into consideration while I prepare.

Colorado requires an ATV permit for non-residents that can be purchased online ahead of time. It is a yearly sticker that mounts on your machine. I believe street legal just means lights & brake lights for an ATV on a forest service road. I have never had an issue as long as we did not drive off a forest road or orv approved trail.
Good Luck !

I've been in there a few times myself but all my experience is during archery. When it's dry the roads not bad, but when it rains that road dust gets pretty slick. We chained up our last trip in, coming out 10 days later it was dry again. I'll be back in there in 38 days.
