What would it take to build a 375 Ruger off an existing 30-06 length action? Thinking of turning a 30-06 Tikka T3 into one.

It'd be much easier to start with a magnum bolt face and magazine. My son is in the middle of a fairly easy conversion of a Remington 700 that used to be a 7mm Remington Magnum. I feel like if you want more out of your Tikka you should consider a .338/06, .35 Whelen, or 9.3x62.Good luck!

I’ll second the 9.3x62. Easy rebore and is easy to load from mild to wild. Plus no internal changes to bolt, mag or feed rails.

While I have no particular use for a 375 Ruger, I have a Savage 111 magnum action that needs a barrel. The 6.56PRC is the leading candidate but I have a bunch of rifles in .25 to 7mm, including two 6.5s and the .375 Ruger keeps popping up in my brain as I have nother larger than a .338 except a .44 Mag and .45-70.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.
A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

That 375 Ruger would be an animal with the big Barnes and Nosler's. I have a 338 Win and 375 Improved. I am not sure I would have ever gotten the 338 were I to have the 375 first. Pretty awesome cartridge. The 375 Ruger is about the same as a 375 Improved. Should run neck and neck.
