Was just talking to a gun shop about 1 1/2 hours south of me. Apparently they have an Ithaca 10 ga auto on the used rack. These aren't very common anymore.

That’s because Ithaca sold out to Remington...
The same shotgun with some Mod’s is called the SP10

Understand......I do remember Ithaca selling the patent, etc, to Remington some time ago. So, are the Ithaca 10 ga auto's not reliable ?

Understand......I do remember Ithaca selling the patent, etc, to Remington some time ago. So, are the Ithaca 10 ga auto's not reliable ? I've got both and I've never had a jam with either one. I got the Ithaca back when we could still use lead for waterfowl. The Ithaca's safety sticks out a little farther and the detent spring is not as strong as on the Remington, so I'm continually checking it. The SP10s have screw-in chokes, my Mag10 is fixed full.

I'm just passing this info along, regarding the Ithaca Auto 10 gauge. Personally, I'm past the age of wanting to carry (or shoot) one of these.

My primary Mag-10 was made in 1976, I bought it in 1984. It worked well with lead shot but the early steel loads were problematic. I replaced the original springs with a kit from Wolff in '86 and again around 1998 and it has been trouble free since.
A few of the parts interchange between the Mag-10 and the SP10 but usually need some fitting. Many more don't and are difficult to find so when I ran into one for cheap I bought it for parts. I haven't had to raid it for parts yet as I don't use the 10 ga as much as I used to but it is there if needed.

Apparently there are still a couple Browning Gold 10 lites out there... even though browning quick making them last year. Marks Prairie Wings in Arkansas has them in their flyer https://www.mackspw.com/mpw-2020-fall-flyway-sale-flyer
