I believe only .308s have shipped at this point. I was originally looking for a 6.5, but decided to go ahead and pick up the only .308 I could find within a few hundred miles today.

The Sig .277 Furry looks interesting.

My thoughts, too. But, I would want it in a more traditional length barrel than 16", because I would be most interested in wringing out the most velocity I could from the cartridge.

Well I will keep looking if they are out there.

I was going to go for the 308 - 277 Furry looks cool (and I am a 270 guy) but in this package to me (relaoding, etc) 308 just makes sense.

I’m pretty interested in reviews on the 16” 308. Curious how they handle as a hunting rifle.

Depending on the type.of hunting you do, I don't think the cheek riser is ideal. It looks to prone to catching on gear, coats, etc. I think they got the weight right but it would have been nice to see the action positioned inline with the butt stock as on the RPR.

I took mine out yesterday for it's first short range trip, I like the handling, ergos and I think it's going to be a shooter. I don't see the cheek riser or any of the other adjustment mechanisms being a problem for me at all, they are well designed, not very likely to get snagged and allow you to fit the rifle to yourself perfectly. I like the fit at least as much as my RPR, and the Cross has a much nicer finish all around and weighs several pounds less.

It seems like someone put a lot of thought into the design of this thing, stock locks up very tight on tapers, bolt is a unique design, breaks down without tools, rollers on the striker cocking surfaces, everything only fits one way, nice finish and coatings, etc.

Mine came in right at 6.5 lb, the barrel is thicker than I expected, when the aftermarket starts making barrels soon, you could probably drop significant weight with a lighter profile. Trigger came set to 2.5 lb.

I had 5 rounds each of Fed Premium 165gr AB and FGMM so those were the first rounds out of the rifle to get on target. I also shot a couple ladders to check velocities/pressures, should be able to do some load development this next week, I think with my hand loads, this rifle is probably going to be a good shooter.

I wonder what the fury will do with 22, 24 or even 26” barrel. For longer range you’d think they’d offer at least a 22

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Do you shoot game further than an 18 inch 6.5mm is useful?

That's pretty far.

Was that my original question?

But how far is the range for 6.5 out of 18"?

Bull elk seem impressed out too 600yds which is the max I would shoot on an unwounded animal.

Hitting at 1000 is no special trick but bullet performance might be sketchy.

18 inches leaves some room on the end for quieter.

This review says a 24" barrel will be available as will be owner interchangeable barrels, I'm a traditional guy, I like blue and walnut but this is a very interesting!
