I know there are a few guys here actually interested in knives and steel, I recommend adding this to your summer reading.

Where did you find that book? Interesting subject matter. Likely a book that anyone with an interest in knives should own. Thanks, Jeff

He came onto the Bladeforums and Knifeforums world as a kid, albeit with the pedigree of being knifemaker and Damascus God Devin Thomas' son. He took a metric fook ton of s4!t for a long time, then went to school all the way through a PhD to prove his points... How can you NOT admire that? His website is Knife Steel NerdsHis page on his book is Larrin's BookWhere to buy: Knife Engineering: Steel, Heat Treating, and Geometry

Nerd describes the website. Been there looking for worthwhile nuggets, got a few. Also found a bunch of boulders I'm not prepared to deal with.
Might try to find the book. Might help in handling those boulders.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

Book arrived today via Amazon Prime. What an encyclopedia of a book! Quick flip through and it is definitely going to be useful. Thanks for the heads up MCH! Jeff

Jeff As you read through it, you'll see MANY shouts to Roman Landes published by Wieland Verlag, Germany and Dr. John D. Verhoeven, by Iowa State... Tons of their research/findings is available free online...do yourself a favor and grab as much as you can find!!! Also, re forging Kevin Cashen!!!

Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.
