Archery and black powder used to be called primitive weapons seasons. Not so much anymore.

Archery and black powder used to be called primitive weapons seasons. Not so much anymore. Colorado pretty much gives the bow hunters whatever they want because they are a big lobby. Black powder not so much. The inlines break open, but still must be loaded from the muzzle, and there are better powders with more reliable ignition, but still no scopes, sabots, pellets. Archery, if you have a disability permit, you can use a crossbow with either 1X scope or red dot and archery season is still a month long where as ML is 9 days.
If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles

Not like the old side locks, but early in lines like the Black Diamond by TC had an exposed cap. I only went to a TC Impact break open inline because of the weight of my old TC Hawkin. Age got the best of me and those 3 extra pounds were a lot for an old fart to lug around

Still have an alternative season here in Mo, not just for muzzleloaders anymore... Still later in the year like the old muzzleloader season used to be. Michigan recently announced the same. Centerfire and shotguns included. The aim, along with simplified anterless regulations, is to expand "hunter opportunities". Fewer hunters are taking fewer deer these days. I was actually hoping for an exclusive primitive MZ hunt.
