There are plenty of listed loads in the Lyman manual using Unique for 1 oz loads in the 20 ga. The same manual will show there aren't 1 oz loads using Unique in the 12 ga and explain why Unique is a poor choice for such application. It will also show a number of suitable loads using appropriate powders - many of which will work well for pistol.

Unique is good powder for 12 ga. Not 1 oz but works well in 1 1/8oz loads. My favorite powder for handicap trap loads. Buy it in 8 lb jugs.

unique is too fine for 12ga. never could understand that application. That doesn't make sense. Unique works very well in the 12 ga, some very good uses are mentioned above. For me, it is my favorite 1 1/4 oz load for cold weather (>0 degrees F) use in the 12 ga.

Allways liked Herco for 1 1/4 oz 12 ga and 1 oz 20 ga , works for 1 oz 16's as well. MB

Currently burning the last of my Herco under 1-1/4 oz. As soon as that's gone, Unique is going in the hopper.
